AR Visualization for Marathoners
Most marathoners never see the marathon course in which they are competing until the day they run the marathon!
Wouldn’t it be great to see those 26.2 miles before you run course?
Reality Lab is working with a startup (stealth mode for the moment) that helps runners visualize the marathon course by providing video of the actual course. You’ll soon see this stealth-mode company integrated into the runner’s app of a global running-shoe company.
The next step for this stealth-mode company is to incorporate AR into their app. Reality Lab has created a concept AR experience as a sketch for this next step. We’re now working on a proof of concept app utilizing course GPS data, including longitude, latitude, and elevation.
